This is the only oil painting I've done to date. While on vacation in Maui, my wife and I decided to take an afternoon plein air painting class from a local artist. Guiding us stroke by stroke, she showed us how to create oil paintings using only a small palette knife. No brushes involved. I have yet to try to replicate the marble-texture achieved by only partially mixing two contrasting colors, as done here.
