Private Collection
Painted from the porch of Colette's Bed & Breakfast near Port Angeles, WA. The view is looking north across the Strait of Juan de Fuca towards Victoria BC and the San Juan Islands. The summer of 2018 was blanketed in forest fires, so the view beyond the cliff was actually a wall of white smoke and fog the day I painted. So the blue sky was pure imagination and the distant islands were educated guesses based on where google maps said the islands should be.
Colette's is one of the few B&B's on the peninsula with an EV charger, which is a crucial part of any road trip in a post-fossil-fuel vehicle. We stayed there again in 2019 and will likely do so again if our travels take us nearby.
