For a brief period of time while working on the Internet Explorer team at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA, I had an second-story office in building 10 overlooking this fountain. Of the 23 different workstations and offices I had over my 15 years at Microsoft, this one was my favorite. I decided to spend some of my vacation time sitting in the grass outside the building to capture this memory.
 
I left Microsoft in 2005, but did consulting work with them up until 2015. All the buildings in this painting were demolished in 2018, as was the fountain, to make room for much larger buildings.
